Camera or waveform commentary
Record yourself on the front or rear camera, or record your voice alone with a waveform picture. Recordings are portrait and real time.
Stone Mobile records commentary for your investigations from a phone: at a site visit, after a hearing, or wherever the evidence is. Each recording becomes a session in your Stone project, ready to review and publish alongside your desktop recordings.
Until the store listings are live, open Stone in your phone's browser. It has the same commentary recorder. On Android, choose Install app from Chrome's menu to add it to your home screen.
Select a screenshot to enlarge it.
Sign in with your Stone account. Your projects are the same on every device.
Choose webcam or waveform commentary, then press record.
Record in portrait. The screen stays on until you stop.
Name the session and save it to your project. It uploads privately.

On iOS 27 and later, the iPhone app can also record your screen while you work in other apps, with optional microphone commentary.

A recording is kept on the phone until its upload is confirmed. Uploaded sessions stay private until you publish the project.
Uploads are limited to 100 MB per recording, and Stone needs to stay open while a recording uploads. For long screen recordings and full editing, use the desktop app.
